Monday, August 26 at Monroe Woodbury High School,

On a picture perfect Monday morning, Aug. 26, the Crusaders gathered for their 2019 varsity football team picture at Monroe-Woodbury High School.

The photo marks the end of the first week of practice. The Crusaders put in a tough week of work, including the annual Purple vs. White scrimmage that took place on Saturday afternoon at Smith's Clove Park in Monroe.

The 2019 season marks the beginning of a new era of Crusader football. James Sciarra takes over as head coach and, with his veteran staff of Jordan Bari, Dave Colabella, James D'Alessio, Brent Van De Weert and Joe Pesce, he has the team ready to start the season.

The Crusaders will open their campaign on Friday, Sept. 6, when they travel to Cornwall to take on the Dragons.

But everybody is looking forward to the Sept. 13 match up against Pine Bush when the Crusaders will play their first home game on their beautiful new turf field.
