Kajetan Leitner named the Monroe-Woodbury 'Athlete of the Week'

CENTRAL VALLEY — Monroe-Woodbury Athletic Director Lori Hock has announced that Kajetan Leitner, a member of the Boys Varsity Indoor Track team coached by Matt Hemmer, is the “Athlete of the Week” for the week ending Jan. 4.
Kajetan specializes in distance events.
"He is a team leader and well respected by coaches and athletes throughout Section IX," Hemmer said in the press release announcing the selection. "During the winter recess, Kajetan had breakthrough performances at both the Pearl River Holiday Festival and the Coach Glynn Holiday Carnival tournaments. He set new personal records in the 1000m and 600m runs and led off the 3200m relay to a second-place performance.
"Kajetan will be an integral cog," the coach added, "as the Crusaders look to repeat as OCIAA and Section IX Champions."
