CENTRAL VALLEY — Tyler Crill, captain of the Monroe-Woodbury Boys Varsity Tennis team coached by Anita Wilson, has been selected as the high school’s “Athlete of the Week,” Athletic Director George St. Lawrence announced in his weekly press release.

Tyler is a senior who plays first singles on the Monroe-Woodbury Boys Varsity Tennis team. He has been chosen based upon his outstanding success and dedication.

Tyler won three matches last week, including two victories against very strong opponents. His win on Friday was a difficult one due to the very windy and cold weather, as well as a very good opponent, but Tyler was victorious through it all. This victory helped the team win a very difficult match against Newburgh 4-3.

Tyler’s conference record is 6-0 so far this year, with the ultimate goal of going undefeated in conference.
