Dylan Stephanik is 'Athlete of the Week’

CENTRAL VALLEY — Dylan Stephanik, a member of the Monroe-Woodbury Varsity Ice Hockey team coached by Paul Bacsardi, has been named the high school’s “Athlete of the Week” for the period ending Dec. 7.
A junior, Dylan has been the scoring leader through the first five games with five goals and five assists. The winger also does double duty on the power play and penalty kill lines.
Dylan also plays travel hockey for the New Jersey Hitmen on the junior level. College and ice hockey are in Dylan’s future plans.
The Crusader Varsity Ice Hockey team is currently 3-2 with wins over Stepinac, Clarkstown and Eastchester/Tuckahoe/Bronxville ETB).
This past weekend, Monroe-Woodbury lost to Shaker/Colonie 5-4 on the Olympic-size rink at Albany and then lost to Clarence High School of Buffalo 8-2 at Sport-O-Rama.
