Central Valley. Crusaders slay Dragons in virtual swim meet

On Wednesday, Feb. 10, at Monroe-Woodbury Middle School, the Crusaders remained undefeated as they beat the Dragons of Cornwall 97-81 in their fourth virtual swim meet of the year.

Crusaders Charles Liu, Ariel Koyfman, Shane Douthit and Pat Kivlehan got the team off to a lead when they won the 200 medley relay with a time of 1:47.02.

Crusader Dylan Cobb took first in the 200 freestyle in 1:58.58 before Shane Douthit took first in 200 individual medley with a time of 2:14.13.

Next Dragon, George Cutrone won the 50 freestyle before the diving competition.

The Crusader dive team then then put on another incredible show. Caleb Kimbrell posted a six-dive total of 235.73 for first, Omer Mosker took second with 210:22 and Sean Kirk’s score of 199.88 completed the sweep for the Crusader dive team.

When the Crusaders got back into the pool, Dylan Cobb’s time of 1:00.59 gave him first in the 100 butterfly and Charles Liu came in first in the 100 freestyle with a time of 51:74.

Patrick Kivlehan kept the Crusaders tidal wave rolling when he came in first in the 500 freestyle with a time of 5:19.35.

The Crusader relay team of Charles Liu, Peter Brelesky, Paddy Dineen and Dylan Cobb posted a time of 1:40.47 for first in the 200 freestyle race before Dragon Daniel Rall took first in the 100 backstroke.

Liu posted the fastest time in the 100 breaststroke of 1:06.52 and the relay team of Kivlehan, Cobb, Brelesky and Douthit wrapped up the Crusader’s victory with a time of 3:36.49 in the 400 freestyle relay race.
