Anna Delaney chosen M-W's 'Athlete of the Week'

CENTRAL VALLEY — Senior Anna Delaney, a member of the Monroe-Woodbury Girls Varsity Lacrosse Team coached by Samantha Garnet, is the high school's "Athlete of the Week" for the period ending May 13.
In his press release describing the athlete's selection, Athletic Director Ron Montalto wrote:
"Anna has been a key component in this season's defense. As a senior, Anna helps to lead the team by example. Her tough play, excellent defensive skills and positive attitude have contributed immensely to this season's success. Anna is an incredibly dependable player and makes fantastic plays for us defensively while also helping to transition the ball offensively. Anna is leading the team with 16 interceptions. She has also recorded 15 ground balls this season. Anna's persistent pressure has produced numerous caused turnovers for the team. Anna is an excellent team player and her defensive success will just continue to grow as the season continues."
