To the editor: My name is Lisa Spivak and I am writing to introduce myself as the Democratic candidate for Tuxedo Town Council. I am enthusiastic about the opportunity to serve the town community at this crucial time. The issues our town faces today affect our environment, taxes, and quality of life. If elected, I pledge to meet these challenges with new energy and a fresh approach. As a resident of Tuxedo and a health professional, I want to ensure that Tuxedo has appropriate emergency service and that we retain the high quality of life we enjoy. I am originally from the Midwest and have resided in New York since 1994 and in Tuxedo since 2001. My husband, Seth, and I have been married for nine years. We have four children: Taylor attends second grade at George Grant Mason Elementary School, twins Madison and Jared attend St. Mary’s Pre-school, and Jake, 2, rules the house. I graduated from Coe College in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing. I have been a Registered Nurse for 14 years and hold a professional certification in critical care. I have also been an adjunct instructor for nursing students at a community college and served on different retention committees. I am approachable, decisive, motivated and someone who wants the best quality of life we can achieve. I believe that working together we can keep Tuxedo on a positive track for all our citizens. I ask for your vote on Nov. 8. Lisa Spivak Democratic candidate Tuxedo Town Board
