‘Sisters helping sisters'

As part of the national Girl Scout's "Sisters Helping Sisters" program, the teen girls of the Studio 2B group in Woodbury donated $300 worth of WalMart gift cards to their "sister" scouts in the Audubon Girl Scout Council in Baton Rouge, La. Located in an area that has more than 32 shelters and temporary communities housing evacuees of Hurricane Katrina, this council, as well as others surrounding the affected area, is supporting many of the displaced Girl Scouts from the Gulf Coast. These cards will be given out to those girls to enable them to purchase the things they need. Woodbury Girl Scout Troop #425 decided to donate this money from their group checking account (which they had planned to use for travel) in order to help their "sister" scouts. Members are: Kate Fitzgerald, Katie Ford, Jennifer Titus and Autumn Mercadante, Abigail Shriber and Nikki Prestia.
