To the editor: Last November, more than 13,000 Monroe residents cared enough about our nation to vote for their choice in the Presidential Election. We would like to ask each of you to please show that you care as much about your town and vote on Tuesday, Nov. 8th. Monroe needs leadership that will listen to the concerns of its residents and make the kinds of changes that this community needs. Monroe needs leadership that will focus on the issues and be committed to addressing them. We believe we have demonstrated that we have that commitment and will work for you. We are committed to the families of Monroe by being longtime community advocates that have been actively working to improve the quality of life in our town. We are committed to the taxpayers of Monroe with our plan to improve the commercial business tax base and offset the burden to the residential taxpayers. We are committed to helping our senior citizens by working to increase the property tax relief programs available to our residents on fixed incomes. We are committed to our community with our plan to implement and enforce laws designed to reduce sprawl and protect our neighborhood integrity, our water supplies, and our scenic landscapes. We believe we have proven by our actions that we have the right kind of commitment and dedication that our town needs. Please remember on Tuesday that only you can decide the future of your town and you can only do that if you vote. On Nov. 8, look for us on Row D of the ballot and select the team that will continue to work for Monroe. Thank you for your support.
