‘Save Woodbury'

To the editor: It’s always refreshing to come across people in this world whose lives have been and continue to be dedicated to their fellow man. Two such people are John Burke, Democratic candidate for supervisor and Darleen Reveille, Democratic A for councilwoman in the upcoming Woodbury Town Board election on Nov. 8. Before retiring, John spent more than 30 years in education, teaching our most precious commodity - our children. He received many awards for his accomplishments. As a 36-year resident of Woodbury, John has been an outspoken advocate for the people of this town and the environment. He also brings with him countless years of managerial and budgetary experience. Darleen has spent 26 years as a critical care nurse and for 18 years during that time has been involved in municipal government as a public health official. She has been instrumental in initiating community programs such as Converting the Uninsured and Cultural Competency. She works with government officials on the local, county and state levels. It’s obvious that John and Darleen have demonstrated a deep commitment to those around them. For once let’s elect those who put others needs above their own. The environment and overall quality of life in Woodbury must be preserved by protecting our zoning. We must make a change in leadership before Woodbury is lost forever. Robert Reveille Highland Mills
