Savarese and Patterson to sign autographs
Boxer to donate proceeds to family of soldier killed in Iraq Monticello Local boxing stars Lou Savarese and Tracy Patterson will sign autographs during a Sports Card and Memorabilia Show on Saturday, March 4, at Mighty M Gaming. Savarese, whose 43-6 career included bouts against George Foreman, Mike Tyson, and Buster Douglas, will sign autographs from 2 until 4 p.m. The proceeds from the sale of his memorabilia will be donated to a fund benefiting the family of Louis Allen, an Orange County soldier killed in Iraq, and who left behind a wife and four children in Chester. “Lou Allen was a popular teacher at George F. Baker High School in the Tuxedo. He served our community and country with distinction, and was a great husband and father. Lou Savarese wants to return some of the love that Allen showed the community by supporting the Lt. Louis Allen Fund,” said Stuart Tashman, promoter of the show. Tracy Patterson, a former super featherweight champion from New Paltz who had a 63-8-2 career, will sign autographs from noon until 2 p.m. Patterson had 43 wins by knockout during his 16-year career. Mighty M Gaming at Monticello Raceway, on Route 17B in Monticello, is open from 10 a.m. to 2 a.m. daily Admission to show area is $5, and children under 12 are free.
