The Rotary Club of Monroe-Woodbury has responded to the destruction from Hurricane Irene by assisting students whose homes were flooded and condemned. The club provided backpacks full of new school supplies to seven displaced children. In the photo, Rotarian Cliff Berchtold turns over the packs to Dr. Charlene Kelemen, the Homeless Liaison for Monroe-Woodbury School District. Berchtold also is the school district’s transportation chief.
