Goshen — The Orange County Association of Realtors has signed official documentation to sponsor its fourth House in partnership with Habitat for Humanity of Greater Newburgh. The association has been involved with Habitat since 2001 and has sponsored three houses to date. The recent commitment is for a house located at 72 Benkard Ave. This particular home include a rental apartment that will allow the new owners an additional source of income. Some of the other fund raising efforts include: monthly “Dine and Donate” coupons where participating restaurants donate a portion of guests proceeds to the house fund and a Traveling House that visits offices for two week periods and the office has the freedom to raise funds any way it choose. “This allows for creativity and it also creates awareness for the project as it travels,” said Claude Brischoux, association director, Habitat for Humanity chair and associate broker of Keller Williams Realty. Habitat for Humanity of Greater Newburgh is dedicated to providing decent, affordable housing in partnership with local, hard-working families in need. The Orange County Association of Realtors has for many years been an active participant in helping Habitat restore a sense of community with the common goal of strong neighborhoods and dignity through homeownership.
