Put partisanship aside

To the editor: The results of the Sept. 13th primary elections were very telling. Incumbents Martin and Weeks squeaked by with the help of their standby "KJ bloc vote." Alicia Vaccaro won what essentially boiled down to a popularity contest between her and Bob Purdy. The Democrats ran a strong campaign, but not clean, not by a long shot. It is time to put petty differences and partisan politics aside if both parties truly want what is best for Monroe. Otherwise the incumbents get what they want and so do their favorite constituents, Kiryas Joel. Cristina Kiesel Monroe
