Purcell explains why he's running
To the editor: My name is James Purcell and I am seeking the position of Village of Monroe trustee. I have been a village resident for 15 years. While attending our Village Board meetings for the past two years, I have become increasingly aware of the concerns of our residents. I feel I have an opportunity to contribute to my village as well as to give back to my community. As I walk our streets campaigning for this election, your concerns and needs have not fallen on deaf ears. Jeff Peifer, mayoral candidate, Wayne Chan, trustee candidate, and I will work tirelessly for our village. Our vision for the Village of Monroe includes beautifying and strengthening our business and park areas. We will work together with adjacent village and town officials to solve common problems. We propose to consolidate Village of Monroe Highway and Water departments. We strongly support a town-wide police force. Jeff, Wayne and I, Concerned Citizens of the Village of Monroe, are on-hand candidates who will respond to any and all concerns of our village neighbors. James C.
