Woodbury Fire Dept. helps rescue injured hiker

The Woodbury Fire Department recently relayed the details of a Christmas Eve rescue at Harriman State Park. According to the announcement, at about 7:15 p.m. on December 24, the Woodbury Fire Department was dispatched to Harriman State Park for a report of a hiker with a broken leg and jaw.
Squad 521, M524 and Car 1 responded. The injured hiker was found about 1.5 miles into the woods and had fallen about 25 feet off a cliff, the fire department reported. The hiker was then packed up, taken out of the woods, and flown out via medevac. Units were back in service after about three hours.
