Monroe-based dispensary bus driver arrested in East Fishkill
Monroe. As part of the arrest, the dispensary bus was impounded.

On February 28, the East Fishkill Police Department reported the arrest of Eli E. Herrera, 22, of Monroe for the criminal sale of cannabis in the third degree, a Class A misdemeanor, and unlawful sale of cannabis, a violation.
According to the police department, on February 26, at around 4:30 p.m., the East Fishkill Police Department Patrol Division, in conjunction with the Dutchess County Drug Task Force, arrested Herrera after an investigation into illegal sales of cannabis to those under the age of 21. However, the charges focus on Herrera’s alleged operation of an illegal mobile dispensary, which also operates in Monroe. Police claimed Herrera illegally sold cannabis “from the rear of a makeshift dispensary bus,” which was operating without a permit or a license. The dispensary bus was seized and impounded as a result.
Herrera was processed at the East Fishkill Police Department, issued an appearance ticket, and released on his own recognizance. The police also said additional charges are pending “for another participant involved in this investigation.”
“This is reminder that the town of East Fishkill has opted out of allowing cannabis retail dispensaries and on-site cannabis consumption sites from being established and operated within the town’s jurisdiction,” the police department stated. “The East Fishkill Police Department will always work diligently to protect this community and prevent any drugs, including cannabis, from being illegally sold.”
The East Fishkill Police Department also thanked the Dutchess County Drug Task Force for their assistance.
