Song assures victims ‘Everything’s Gonna Be Okay’ MONROE — The students of Room 109 at Pine Tree Elementary School are testing their belief in the positive power of song. The fifth-graders and their teacher, Bob Barlow, have produced a CD in hopes of raising funds for the victims of Hurricane Katrina, who are still in great need of support months after the devastating storm. The CD contains a single song called “Everything’s Gonna Be Okay,” which was written and recorded by the students and Mr. Barlow. The CD, priced at $5, will be available for the holidays at several stores in the Monroe area. Proceeds will go directly to the American Red Cross and Americares, charities chosen by the students themselves. “Writing and recording the song was fun,” said one student involved in the project, “but our reasons for doing it were serious. The more people who buy the CD, the more money we’ll send to charity.”
