Parrella ‘does her homework'

To the editor: People in Monroe need to vote next week if they’re ever going to have someone on that board that will really work for this town. And anyone who follows issues in this town knows there’s one person running who’s proven she has what it takes to help Monroe. That is Kathy Parrella. Kathy Parrella is an independent and intelligent woman. I saw her speak at a meeting a few years ago about the old landfill out on Lakes Road and a housing project that she had concerns about. It was obvious that she did extensive research and knew the facts when she spoke about possible water contamination. She stood up for the residents in that area, even though she didn’t live there, because it was the right thing to do. Since then I’ve seen Kathy Parrella speak out at public hearings and at town meetings. She always does her homework and speaks with knowledge and intelligence. She doesn’t go there just to bring up concerns - she has proposed solutions and offered suggestions on many subjects, always with professionalism and insight. Anyone who has ever watched replays of Town Board meetings on TV and heard Ms. Parrella speak knows this is a fact. I think Monroe would be fortunate to have Kathy Parrella on the town board looking out for all of us. She has proved to me that she truly cares about Monroe and can come up with solutions to our problems. I hope everyone will come out and vote on Tuesday, Nov. 8, for Kathy Parrella for Monroe Town Council. Tina Fiore Monroe
