Parrella and Budich offer thanks

To the editor: We would like to thank the residents of Monroe for their overwhelming show of support in the Republican Primary. Getting past the rhetoric and actually looking at the votes in the districts makes it obvious how the people of Monroe really feel. By casting your votes for Parrella and Budich at a 3-to-1 ratio and defeating Weeks and Martin with nearly 80 percent of the votes in all districts outside of Kiryas Joel, you have shown loud and clear that the Town of Monroe, Village of Monroe and Village of Harriman want change. Unfortunately, again we faced the situation where Kiryas Joel brought out enough votes to override your choice and deliver Weeks and Martin the Republican line on the ballot. However, we sincerely appreciate your support and thank you for coming to the polls and speaking out with your vote. You have been heard! As two of the candidates for Town Councilperson, we are asking for your continued support as we move forward to the General Election. Now is when we need all residents to get involved in this important election and vote with strength in numbers. The residents of Monroe will have a very important choice to make on Nov. 8 when you select the two people who are most qualified to represent YOUR interests on the Town Board. As community advocates, we are the only candidates that have been here for you for many years, standing up for your interests and rights, presenting positive suggestions to the Town Board, participating in Public Hearings and lobbying for changes to make Monroe a better place. We are the only candidates that have been active in our community working for our children, our neighborhoods, and our environment. We understand the issues that face Monroe and the people who live here because we have been out there fighting for you already. We would like to continue this work for the people of Monroe by bringing our knowledge, spirit of cooperation and positive teamwork to the Town Council. Thank you again for your votes of confidence in the Primary and we ask that you please continue to show your support by voting for Parrella and Budich for Town Council on Nov. 8. Katherine Parrella and Teresa Budich Monroe
