Orange County Arts Council will honor Nick Zungoli and Richard and Susan Logothetises

    Sugar Loaf residents recognized for their contributions to the arts scene Sugar Loaf — Two cornerstones of Sugar Loaf’s arts community are to be honored at this year’s Orange County Arts Council awards ceremony to be held on Friday, Nov. 12, at the Harness Racing Museum in Goshen. Among this year’s recipients are Sugar Loaf residents Nick Zungoli, nationally acclaimed photographer and Lycian Stage Lighting’s Richard and Susan Logothetis. Zungoli will receive individual artist of the year and the Logothetises will be honored as corporate champions for the arts. Internationally recognized and the Hudson Valley’s pre-eminent landscape photographer, Zungoli’s work has been widely collected since 1979 when he opened Exposures Gallery in Sugar Loaf. He has been a contributor to National Geographic Magazine, the New York Times and Sierra Magazine, and has produced numerous exhibitions and books from his extensive travels. With their home and stage light company located in Sugar Loaf, the Logothetises have provided financial and facility support to the arts for more than 30 years. They also imagined and built the Lycian Centre for the Performing Arts in 1993 which has become an arts and entertainment destination in the mid-Hudson Valley and the surrounding region. Other area artists and arts supporters will also be honored by the council.
