October blood drive honors Walter Bieber

MONROE — The Monroe Volunteer Ambulance Corps and the Monroe PBA will be hosting a blood drive on Saturday Oct. 24, between the hours of 9 a.m. and 2:30 p.m., at the Monroe Ambulance building located at 100 Ramapo Street in Monroe. This drive is in honor of Barbara McCue, the 42-year-old sister of Walter Bieber, who is a long-time Monroe resident, former Monroe Police officer, current firefighter with the Monroe Fire Department, and a retired firefighter with the FDNY. McCue was recently diagnosed with the form of Leukemia commonly known as ALM. People interested in donating can make an appointment online by contacting jyurman@monroeems.org or can walk in without an appointment on a first-come, first-serve basis
