    Monroe — The following items are from Monroe Village Police reports: 'Words were exchanged’ At 2:20 in the morning on Saturday, Sept. 10, Monroe Police received a 911 call about a fight in a gas station parking lot: One man had pulled a knife on the other. The victim, a 23-year-old Monroe man, told police that he was speaking with a female friend who was also friends with the man with the knife. Words were exchanged between the two men and then the suspect took out a six-inch knife and tried to stab and slash the 23-year-old, who was able to fight off the attack until police arrived. Police he was not seriously injured. Officers arrested Quentin Mouzon, 29, of Harriman. He was charged with third-degree criminal possession of a weapon, a felony; second-degree menacing, a misdemeanor; and second-degree harassment, a violation. The knife was recovered, which police said Mouzon had tried to hide inside the gas station. Mouzon was sent to Orange County Jail on $5,000 cash bail pending further court action. Arrest made in October 2010 robbery On Sunday, Sept. 11, Monroe Police arrested the second man wanted in connection with a knife-point street robbery that occurred Oct. 9, 2010. James Taylor, 52, of Greenwood Lake, was charged with first-degree robbery, fourth-degree grand larceny, fourth-degree criminal possession of stolen property, first-degree criminal impersonation, felonies; fourth-degree criminal possession of a weapon and seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, misdemeanors. He was remanded to Orange County Jail in lieu of $50,000 bail. Police said that Taylor and Timothy Howard, 47, of Chester, robbed a man and a woman of about $500 cash and keys. The couple was not injured. Howard was arrested Dec. 29, 2010. Police said he took a plea to the charge and was sentenced to jail.
