The Monroe Volunteer Ambulance Corps recently found itself without any ambulances due to unforeseen mechanical problems. “One call to our neighbors in Kiryas Joel and they loaned us one of their (vehicles),” Ambulance Corps President Nancy Peifer said. “This allowed us to continue serving the Monroe community.” Monroe used the borrowed ambulance for two days, answering between 8 and 10 calls.
