Museum Village promotes the new face of Museum Village

Monroe - Museum Village’s Board of Trustees held its first monthly VIP tour promoting the New Face of Museum Village on Thursday, April 14. Twenty five local business VIP’s were treated to a meet and greet by Michael Sosler, general manager for business operations, and Dr. Robert Schmick, director of museum operations. After an introduction and presentation, the guests were treated to a tour and private preview of the museum. “We want to engage and invite the community to see the full potential and beauty of the museum,” Schmick said in a press release explaining the VIP tour. “This is truly a gem and we want everyone to be a part of this living history experience.” After the tours, the guests were treated to some wine and hors d’oeuvres and a question and answer session with Schmick and Sosler. The evening ended with a closing by Jeffrey Albanese, chairperson of Board of Trustees, encouraging the community to support Museum Village and the efforts led by Sosler and Schmick. “We intend to reach out to the communities and open our arms and doors to promote the Museum and continue the dreams of Roscoe Smith,” Sosler said.
FYI
Museum Village, located on Route 17M in Monroe, is a living history museum preserving a vast collection of eclectic, 19th century artifacts for educational purposes. Using these artifacts and reproductions, we provide hands-on experiences and exhibits illustrating the transition from a rural to an industrial culture and economy in America, provoking thought and discussion about history.
