Mount to hold admissions open house
NEWBURGH For college-minded students, an admissions open house will be held at 10:45 a.m. on Sunday, Nov. 13, at Mount Saint Mary College. The informative session is designed for high school juniors and seniors, transfer students and their parents. They will have a chance to meet faculty and administrators to discuss academic programs and career opportunities. The day’s activities will begin with welcoming remarks from Sr. Ann Sakac, college president. Participants can tour the campus, including Hudson Hall, with its high-tech “smart classrooms,” and the Elaine and William Kaplan Recreation Center. There will be sessions on financial aid, student life, and cooperative education and internships. The admissions office will receive applications, and the campus store will be open and a sundae bar will end the day. The Mount offers more than 50 undergraduate programs in the divisions of: arts and letters; business, with a five-year accounting program leading to a master of business administration; education; mathematics and computer science; natural sciences; nursing; religious studies and philosophy; and social sciences. In addition, the Mount offers collaborative degree programs with other colleges and universities that lead to graduate degrees in counseling, optometry, podiatric medicine, publishing, physical therapy, social work, and speech-language pathology.
