Motorcycle accident claims two lives

Warwick - A horrific motorcycle accident occurred last Sunday on Long Meadow Road in the Town of Warwick. Two riders were cruising on the long straight-away near the IBM facility when one rider attempted a U-turn as the other rider, approaching from the opposite direction, collided into him . The motorcyclists did not know each other. Warwick Police Sergeant Alton Morley said Ryan Whited, 24, of Mahwah, N.J., and Thomas Loonie, 23, of Ridgewood, N.J., died at the scene. The accident is under investigation by the New York State Police. Town of Tuxedo police also responded to the collision which occurred near the Tuxedo border. Tuxedo Police Chief Dan Carlin said the road is a prime location for speeders and he frequently receives complaints from local residents about motorcycles speeding on the long stretch of road.
