‘More than ever, we need' Gianzero

To the editor: Councilwoman Gerri Gianzero deserves the support of Woodbury residents on Nov. 8th. A lifelong resident, Gerri’s contributions and involvement precede her role as a public official. Gerri has volunteered for Woodbury Day and the Town’s Beautification Commission and the efforts would not be the same without her. Her intelligent and determined abilities have enabled Gerri to successfully acquire funding for pond renovations and open space, as well as assuring that adequate Federal Emergency Funds are allocated to Woodbury. When it came to installing a new floor in the Woodbury senior center, Gerri not only helped secure funds for the floor, but saved the town money by personally installing the floor with other volunteers. She is never above getting the job done. Gerri totally supports open and television town meetings, even in view of the downside. Unfortunately, some of her opponents have made a habit of continuously speaking at these meetings, using their time for politically motivated misinformation, personal attacks, and counterproductive monologues. Gerri is above that, and still makes the effort to respond directly, honestly and factually. More than ever, we need people like Gerri in public office. Let’s all do what we can to re-elect her Nov. 8th. Sincerely, Alisa Peano Town of Woodbury
