Monroe-Woodbury School Board to honor elementary fire poster artists

CENTRAL VALLEY — Sixteen elementary school students from five schools will be presented with trophies at this month’s Monroe-Woodbury Board of Education meeting for their award winning posters depicting fire prevention safety awareness. This year’s Fire Prevention Week Poster Contest’s theme was “Protect Your Family From Fire.” First-place winning students will receive each a Michael J. Fitzula Jr. trophy for their artistic interpretation of the contest’s theme. The contest is sponsored by the fire companies and departments from Harriman, Lakeside, Mombasha and Woodbury in partnership with the elementary schools.
