Monroe-Woodbury Rotary helps spruce up Museum Village for the holidays

Monroe Museum Village was the center of attention last Saturday, Nov. 19, as several members of the Monroe-Woodbury Rotary Club raked leaves, cleaned the parking lot fence and trimmed some of the bushes, thereby giving the museum a good autumn tune-up. “This is great when Non-profit groups can get together and help each other out”, said Michael Sosler, general manager for Museum Village. “The museum always looks forward to working with the Monroe-Woodbury Rotary Club and partnering with other non-profits and community groups as well. We do need to work together to help each other out in these difficult times.” The Monroe-Woodbury Rotary Club is a non-profit organization and is part of Rotary District 7210, which includes most of the Hudson Valley (www.mwrotary.org). Museum Village is a living history museum preserving a vast collection of eclectic, 19th century artifacts for educational purposes. Using these artifacts and reproductions, we provide hands-on experiences and exhibits illustrating the transition from a rural to an industrial culture and economy in America, provoking thought and discussion about history.
