Monroe — The Village of Monroe Police PBA begins its annual toy drive Friday, Nov. 25. The PBA will continue to accept new, unwrapped gifts through Wednesday, Dec. 21. “Our goal is to get at least one toy or gift to every local child that needs one,” said Det. James Frankild. “And each year, with support from the residents, business owners and local organizations, we meet that goal.” More than 500 gifts were contributed and then distributed to young people last holiday season. People or organizations who would like to donate can do so by dropping off toys anytime at the lobby of Monroe Police Headquarters, located at 104 Stage Road in Monroe. Families in need of gifts can call the station at 782-8644 or stop in and ask to be put on the list.
