Monroe Junior Troop 278 makes a difference in the lives of animals
Girl Scouts Junior Troop 278 sponsored a pet drive in front of the ShopRite in Monroe during January as part of their requirements to earn them their Bronze Award. They collected more than 500 cans of food, toys, treats and other supplies to benefit the many dogs, cats and rabbits that are currently awaiting adoption at the Warwick Humane Society. They also received many food donations from other Sarah Wells Girl Scout troops in the Monroe Unit. The girls also donated their time at the Warwick Humane Society as they cleaned up rabbit pens and assembled beds for the animals. Troop 278 includes Amanda Ruggieri, Sabrina Yunque, Emily Ampel, Mary Griesbacker and Britanee Gugel; the troop leaders are Angela Ruggieri and Gina Yunque, who provided the information for this report. Also pictured with the troop is Vincent, a long-haired mixed breed.
