Monroe girl wins tennis tournament

MONROE-Melanie De Marco of Monroe won in the finals of the 1st Annual Fischer/Gamma Classic junior tennis tournament on Sunday, June 27, at Montgomery. The 12-year old tennis player competed in a 2½-hour, three set match against 14-year old Marly Roche of Wantage, N.J. The final score was 4-6,7-5,6-2. The Fischer/Gamma Classic was the first of a series of tennis tournaments scheduled for this summer at the David A. Pardy Tennis Center in Thomas Bull Park. Others include The Prince Cup and the 30th Annual Orange County Championship.
