MONROE-"A soft summer breeze, the ruins of a romantic old castle in the distance, dance music drifting out from the main cabin, and you, on the main deck of a sparkling white yacht, watching the sun set over the beautiful Hudson Valley…" That's the environment being planned for the Monroe Free Library's Hudson River Sunset Cruise which will set sail from Newburgh Landing on Saturday, Aug. 14 at 5 p.m. "Whether you're a newcomer to the Hudson Valley or an old timer who has seen it all, a summer sunset on the Hudson River is always exceptionally beautiful," said Denise Harris, President of the Monroe Free Library Board of Trustees," and what better way to enjoy it than to be onboard a luxury yacht, surrounded by good friends and neighbors, while simultaneously supporting our community library." Harris invites local residents to enjoy three hours of gourmet food, the music of Moondance and the elegant atmosphere of the climate controlled, Pride of the Hudson. "It's an evening that you'll remember long after summer is gone." This is the first in what is expected to be an annual event.
