Monroe - Monroe Free Library is accepting applications from teenage volunteers to staff the library’s popular summer reading program. The Children’s Department will accept applications from library card holders in grades 6 through 12 at a mandatory meeting at the library on Friday, April 15, at 5 p.m. The well-attended summer program is a good place to accrue credit hours toward Monroe-Woodbury’s Comprehensive Diploma. There are 70 slots available. Duties include reading with younger children, shelving books, clerical work and keeping library shelves organized. The library is at 44 Millpond Parkway, across from the millpond in the Village of Monroe. Interested teenagers can reach Debbie Lane, the library’s YA Services Coordinator, at 783-4411 or via e-mail at debbie@monreofreelibrary.org.
