Monroe Democrats honor Charlie Pakula

Monroe - The Monroe Democratic Committee has selected Charlie Pakula as the first recipient of its “Let’s Thank Our Volunteers” initiative. Pakula has been a resident of the town of Monroe for 30 years. His community service includes service as a trustee of the Monroe Free Library, former member of the Friends of the Monroe Free Library, a 50-year Scout Leader of the Boys Scouts of America, executive board member and executive committee member of the Boy Scouts of America, chairman of the board of the Jewish Committee of the Boys Scouts of America, past president of the Monroe-Woodbury Rotary Club, charter president of the Chester Sugarloaf Rotary Club, past commander of the Mulligan Egan 1573 Post, member of the Lions Club, volunteer for the Teen Mission of the Monroe-Woodbury High School, organizer of the Monroe Clean Sweep program and as assistant chief of the State of New York Nights of Pythias. He is the owner of the GNC Nutrition store located in Federal Plaza on Route 17M in Town of Monroe.
