Monroe approves volunteers' tax reduction

Monroe - The Town Board approved a local law this week reducing real property tax by 10 percent of the assessed value for volunteer firefighters and ambulance corps workers. The exemption is capped at $3,000. It also will also apply to any Monroe resident who is a volunteer in other localities.
