McLaughlin's leadership ‘has been exemplary'

To the editor: I would like to take this opportunity to encourage local voters in the 7th District to support incumbent Spencer McLaughlin for re-election as Orange County legislator. I’ve known Spencer and his family for the last 15 years. As a local teacher, historian and commander of Ellis Camp #124, Sons of Union Veterans of the Civil War, I am well-aware of Spencer’s contributions to Orange County. His leadership in perpetuating our county’s history has been exemplary. Recent efforts to preserve open space in the county and to protect our threatened historic sites are proof of his commitment to our past, present, and future. His advocacy for the restoration and movement of the Bradley Civil War monument in the center of Goshen over the last two years has been outstanding.
