Newburgh — The Business Marketing Association of the Hudson Valley will hold its first meeting of the new year at 6 p.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 31, at Diana’s Restaurant on Route 207 in Newburgh. The guest speaker will be international motivational speaker, trainer, performance coach and talk radio personality Frank J. DeRaffele Jr. “Frank was the guest speaker at one of our meetings in 2005,” said Bud Clarke, association president. “The impact he made on his audience was extraordinary. After his presentation, we were all talking about how we might implement Frank’s ideas into our own business development practices. And so what better way to ring in the new year than by having Frank back again to discuss the differences and similarities of the sales process for business-to-business versus business-to-consumer.” DeRaffele is founder and CEO of the ProActive Leadership Center, co-author of “Successful Business Networking” published by Chandler House Press in 1998, a contributing author to the Wall Street Journal and New York Times Best Seller “The Masters of Networking” published by Bard Press in 2000, and a regular writer of business development columns for business journals in Westchester and Fairfield Counties. He has also produced and co-hosted radio programming for the nationally-syndicated Business Talk Network. DeRaffele has worked with a variety of Fortune 1000 Companies, non-profit organizations and small business executives. Stories of his approach to creative problem solving in the business world have appeared in publications as diverse as “Success,” “Employment Review,” “Professional Selling,” “Sports Illustrated,” and “Playboy.” The registration fee is $28 for members, $33 for chamber affiliates and $40 for non-members. Reservations are requested by Friday, Jan. 27. For more information, visit www.bmahv.org, call 567-9000 ext. 259 or write to tcifone@vddw.com.
