Marketing association president steps down; new president named
Kingston The Business Marketing Association of the Hudson Valley has announced that Bob Kurtz, the founding president of the organization, has stepped down. Taking his place is Bud Clarke, formerly the organization’s vice president. Bob Glemming of Q-Search is the new vice president, while Ann Fody of Fody Associates assumed the duties of second vice president. Ken Backofen remains treasurer. Kurtz will remain on the executive board. Clarke is a partner at Clarke/Thompson Advertising & Design in Kingston. As one of the founders, Clarke’s creative strategies have helped countless businesses with their advertising and marketing communications. He has also taught media communications, publication design and web development at The School of Visual Arts in New York City, with which he has been associated for 19 years. In addition to the formation of the association, Kurtz has also been the catalyst in the creation of the Educational E-Marketing Seminar and Expo, which the group will sponsor on Thursday, Nov. 10. The event, which will take place at the Poughkeepsie Grand Hotel and Conference Center, will feature workshops presented by the marketing industry’s most influential leaders.
