Making the case for the Burke team in Wood
To the editor: Republicans in Woodbury should know that John Burke, Bo Haviland and Darleen Revielle, while not on the Republican line, can best represent their values and careful concerns for good government. (Sheila) Conroy and (Geraldine) Gianzero, on the Republican ticket, seeking yet another term as supervisor and council person, respectively, have not lived up to their party’s standard of good governance. Both have let you down in two areas: ONE: Both are rushing forward to accommodate one builder to put 451 housing units (not houses) on a vital water recharge area of Woodbury. So much for sustainable use of resources. Conroy and Gianzero will most likely not give the developer his free rides until after elections, knowing full well they may be committing political suicide. TWO: Good Republican and Conservative voters need to look at Conroy and Gianzero’s failure to control cost of government. Both have approved tax increases totaling 32 percent in the three years they set the budgets. Conroy and Gianzero had no administrative experience and they proved it. John Burke has experience managing a school staff of 300 or more. RN Darleen administers the public health office in a city larger than Woodbury and Bo Haviland is a purchasing agent for the MTA. I urge thinking Republicans and Conservatives to vote for the Burke team on line “H,” the Grassroot Party, if you want to protect our town from over development and the destruction of our water resources.
