M-W Class of 2004 readies for Friday's graduation ceremony

    CENTRAL VALLEY n It's caps and gowns time for a projected 503 Monroe Woodbury High School graduating seniors. That's 50 more than last year. The graduation ceremony will begin at 6 p.m. Friday, June 25, in the high school parking lot. In case of inclement weather, the ceremony will be held in the high school gymnasium for ticketholders only. Parking will be at the high school, middle school and Central Valley Elementary School. Shuttle buses will be used to assist in transportation from one location to another. The Monroe Woodbury Wind Ensemble, under the direction of Richard Regan, will perform the pre-commencement concert, senior processional as well as the recessional. Senior Class President Brian Charles Mulkeen will lead the Pledge of Allegiance, the Monroe Woodbury Voice Ensemble, directed by David Crone, will sing the National Anthem and Principal Dr. Hasna Muhammad will give opening remarks. Valedictorian Brenda Katherine Lynch ranked number one academically in the Monroe Woodbury High School Class of 2004. Ranked second academically is salutatorian Kelly Ann Moltzen. Both will speak to their classmates. Vice Principal Aldo Filippone will introduce the senior class officers who will give a message of appreciation. Board of Education President Claire Perez will present a message to the graduates. Assistant Principal Angelo Gandolfini will tell of post-high school plans of the graduating seniors, principal Hasna Muhammad will present the graduates, Superintendent of Schools Terrence Olivo will accept the graduates and members of the Board of Education will award the diplomas. Selected members of the National Honor Society will serve as guides. The Graduating Seniors All Night Party will be held in the high school facilities, starting about 10 p.m. tonight and lasting until 3 a.m. Saturday.
