M-W Baseball Booster Club hands out awards, scholarships
Central Valley - Members of the Monroe-Woodbury Baseball Booster Club held their second annual awards dinner on June 13 at the Inn at Central Valley, during which time the coaches presented the following awards: Modified White Team, presented by Coach Cassidy: Clutch Player of the Year: Anthony Milano Modified White Team, presented by Coach Cassidy: Sportsmanship Award: Zubin Singh Modified Purple Team, presented by Coach Fosstveit Clutch Player of the year: Bryan Goldfarb Modified Purple Team, presented by Coaches Fosstveit and Biele: Sportsmanship Award: John Chalupa 9th Grade Team, presented by Coach Warbrick: Most Improved Players Award: Dave Cabassa and Dan Castilla 9th Grade Team, presented by Coach Warbrick: Sportsmanship Award: Armany Hildago J.V. Offensive Player of the Year, presented by Coach O’Donnell: Will Schuessler J.V. Defensive Player of the Year, presented by Coach O’Donnell: Bill Dutcher J.V. Most Improved Player of the Year, presented by Coach O’Donnell; Kyle Montross J.V. Sportsmanship Award, presented by Coach O’Donnell: Jeff Cracolici Varsity Offensive Player of the Year, presented by Coach Sager: MJ Schifano Varsity Defensive Player of the Year, presented by Coach Sager: Chris Longo AND Mike Gianzero Varsity Most Improved Player of the Year, presented by Coach Sager: Bryan Penalo Varsity Sportsmanship Award, presented by Coach Sager: Tom Lapolla Varsity MVP, presented by Coach Sager: Taylor Sewitt The club also awarded scholarships to two graduating seniors who will be going on to play college baseball: Chris Longo, who will be attending McDaniel College in Maryland, and Michael Schifano, who will be attending Sacred Heart University in Connecticut. The scholarship committee members were Ann Dutcher, Sandy Montrose, Gina Revinski, Barry Goss and Dan Mende.
