Woodbury Common to host Oct. 16 American Cancer Society Walk

CENTRAL VALLEY — Approximately 10,000 walkers are expected to gather on Sunday, Oct. 16, at Woodbury Common Premium Outlets for the 21st annual American Cancer Society Making Strides Against Breast Cancer walk.
Registration begins at 7:30 a.m. and an opening ceremony will be held at 8 a.m.
The walk will begin at 9 a.m., rain or shine.
In addition to everyday savings of 25 to 65 percent at Woodbury Common Premium Outlets’ more than 220 retailers, participants will receive special coupons from a variety of merchants. These coupons will be valid only on the day of the walk.
“We are excited to host this important breast cancer awareness event again this year,” said Woodbury Common Premium Outlets General Manager David M. Mistretta. “The walk is a celebration of survivors and a signal of shared determination to beat this disease. This event is a great way to enjoy the outdoors and come together for such a vital cause.”
Participants are requested to register at the check-in tent when they arrive.
Those who have registered online are also requested to check in.
A reception will be held for survivors, and each survivor will receive a special gift.
The opening ceremony will be hosted by Mike Bennett from 100.7 WHUD and will include spotlight speakers, a celebration of cancer survivorship, and a wellness warm-up with beBhakti yoga and Studio Ayo Zumba.
The three-mile noncompetitive walk will end when the last walker has crossed the finish line
