Town of Monroe hosts shredding, e-waste collection and tire recycling April 21-22
MONROE — The Town of Monroe, Advanced Recovery Inc. and Confidential Shredding will host programs for shredding, electronics waste collection and tire recycling for town residents on Friday and Saturday, April 21 and 22, at Town Hall, 1465 Orange County Turnpike.
Electronics recycling will be held Friday, April 21, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., and on Saturday, April 22, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Residents must show identification.
Businesses, government agencies and school districts are welcomed on Friday, April 21, but they must pre-register with Advance Recovery. Inc., by calling 8454-858-8809.
The community shredding day will be held Saturday, April 22, from 9 a.m. until noon. This program is for residents only; there is a limit of no more than four boxes per resident.
Tire recycling also will take place Saturday, April 22, from 9 a.m. until 2 p.m. No tire rims will be accepted.
Accepted e-waste items: Cell phones, computers, DVD players, terminals, keyboards, monitors, printers, scanners, speakers, stereos, FAX machines, VCR’s, radios, modems, typewriters, batteries CPU’s and lap tops.
Hard drives will be shredded and all material will be recycled domestically.
Appliances will not be accepted.
