MIDDLETOWN — Nadine Girardi, most recently the director of the Saint Francis Hospital Learning Links Day Care Center in Poughkeepsie, has been hired by SUNY Orange to serve as executive director of the college’s Kindercollege Lab School. With nearly 30 years of childcare and teaching experience, Girardi will direct the newly constructed Morrison Lab School, which will open this August on SUNY Orange’s Middletown campus. She also will oversee the operation of the College’s new Newburgh Kindercollege facility in the Tower Building located along Broadway in the City of Newburgh. Both facilities will welcome children for the first time this August. While directing Saint Francis’ daycare program, Girardi managed two center sites that employed 30 full- and part-time employees, along with a per-diem staff of 12. In addition to serving its children and families, the Saint Francis center was also a learning center for early childhood education students from Dutchess Community College. Kindercollege at SUNY Orange offers licensed daycare, certified by the New York State Office of Children and Family Services, for children ranging in age from infants (two months) through pre-school (age 5). Kindercollege services are available on a priority basis to children of students, faculty and staff of the college. As space permits, community members may also take advantage of Kindercollege programming. For more information on Kindercollege programs, or to apply for admission, contact Girardi at 845-341-4165. Information and online registration forms can also be found at the Kindercollege Web site (www.sunyorange.edu/kindercollege).
