Students making a difference

Students at Smith Clove Elementary recently raised $2,357.67 for the United Nations International Children’s Emergency Fund. Smith Clove wanted to instill compassion and empathy in their students and felt that filling UNICEF boxes with donations while students were trick or treating was a great opportunity to share this important message. UNICEF provided a video highlighting families in need, which was shown to every class at Smith Clove. Students were eager to help the children of Malawi. They couldn’t wait to get their UNICEF boxes filled with donations, so they could contribute to the K.I.N.D. (Kids in Need of Desks) Fund and help buy desks for Malawian students and provide academic scholarships for Malawian girls.
