Shop for a cause in Sugar Loaf

SUGAR LOAF — Shop for a cause when you join the Sugar Loaf merchants in celebrating February Heart Health Month. Make a purchase on Saturday, Feb. 11, at any one of the participating shops in the hamlet and they will donate a portion of those sales to benefit the Heart Transplantation Program at New York-Presbyterian/Columbia University Medical Center.
When one of Sugar Loaf's own, craftsman Peter VonUchtrup, owner of 18th Century Furniture, was in need of a transplant, it was New York-Presbyterian that saved his life and gave him the heart he so desperately needed. Through their efforts and care, VonUchtrup has made a full recovery.
To honor the work they do and in support of Heart Health Month, your purchases on Feb. 11 will allow donations to be made that will help support other families going through the same challenging and daunting process faced by VonUchtrup and his wife, Manon.
Join the Sugar Loaf family of artisans and shopkeepers as we raise awareness and funds for this worthy cause. Participating shops include:
18th Century Furniture
Three French Hens
Bertoni Gallery
My Sister's Closet
Pisces Passions
Lightclub Curiosity Shoppe
Merrily
Bodhi Tree
Ava's Hope Chest
Blue Chip Products
The hamlet of Sugar Loaf is a unique community of working artisans, boutique shops, galleries and community spaces all nestled under Sugar Loaf Mountain in the picturesque Warwick Valley. Surrounded by apple orchards and wineries, the eclectic and charming village was transformed into a crafts center in the 1970s and remains true to that heritage today as the year-round home to dozens of independent business men and women. Many of these artisans live and work in the original historic barns and buildings dating back to Revolutionary times.
