— Last Saturday the Town of Tuxedo held its first bonfire using recycled Christmas trees that the Town Highway Department picked up from town residents.

The event featured ice skating on a homemade rink, smaller camp fires for roasting marshmallows, hot chocolate and a mesmerizing fire fueled by retired Christmas trees.

Shari Brooks, the clerk to Town Supervisor Peter Dolan as well as the town’s recreation director, reported that the Tuxedo Park Fire Company, along with the Tuxedo Volunteer Ambulance Corps, stood by for safety reasons while members of the Fire Department and Town Council took turns loading the trees into the fire.
