Quickway travel advisory

ALBANY — The New York State Department of Transportation issued the following advisory Friday, Nov. 9, for Route 17 Lane Closures in Towns of Goshen, Monroe, Blooming Grove, Wallkill and Woodbury as well as for the Villages of Goshen and Chester:
“Motorists are advised that beginning Saturday, Nov. 10, the state Department of Transportation will be conducting intermittent lane closures in both directions on Route 17 from Exit 122 (East Main Street) to Exit 131 (State Route 32) for paving activities.
“Excluding Sundays, the closures will take place through Monday, Nov. 19, between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m., weather permitting.
“Motorists are asked to use caution when traveling through the work area and pay particular attention to all traffic control devices, including work zone signs and flaggers. Travelers are also reminded that fines are doubled for speeding in a work zone. In accordance with the Work Zone Safety Act of 2005, convictions of two or more speeding violations in a work zone could result in the suspension of the driver’s license.
